Wedding photography Singapore, many people find it quite exciting to photograph a wedding. Very understandable, that’s it too. This article is packed with tips for photographing weddings. Discover for yourself the tips on cameras, lenses, spare equipment, legal appointments, ideas about the photo shoot, communication and much more. The tips are mainly focused on who is going to photograph a wedding for the first time or is not yet so experienced. If I counted all the tips in the text, then I lost 30 at 30. It has become even more …
Camera and spare camera
This is important. Maybe you only have one camera because you’re not so experienced yet. Logical that you often have less equipment. Yet a second camera is a must. If something happens to your camera, you can always fall back on a second camera. It happened to me during a photo shoot (not during a wedding) that a camera really refused and I had to use another camera.
You can also rent that spare camera very well . Short renting of equipment is best in terms of costs. For example, you rent a full frame body for about 40 euros per day (prices can vary, of course). As a spare camera, preferably rent the same camera as your own camera. After all, buttons and menus are familiar.
Which lenses for wedding photography?
Understand what useful objectives are for wedding photography singapore. That does not mean that you already have the most expensive lenses, certainly not. It is useful if you understand which equipment is going to help you. Do not use lenses that are not suitable, it gives unnecessary stress.
Often you will photograph in various circumstances at a wedding. There is often little light at the ceremony . You also want different types of shots. For example, some spatial images at the ceremony, but also more closeups of the bride and groom or only the bride or groom ( zoom lens is useful). Sometimes you are also at a distance during the ceremony.
Possibly macro lens for close ups of the rings
If you have a macro lens or can learn from someone, you can possibly bring it for some closeups of the rings. The magnification is stronger, so you see more details of the rings. This is certainly not the most important, there are also good possibilities to photograph the rings with another lens.
Use the aperture-priority mode (A or Av mode)
You will photograph in varying circumstances. Then the aperture-priority mode is often a good mode to use. You are always in control of your aperture while your camera quickly calculates the shutter speed in varying lighting conditions. Make sure you know how this works. When you raise your ISO . What shutter times you need for example when photographing a portrait, people walking quietly, faster scenes like throwing rice or other situations with more movement, etc.
Check your settings in between
At times you look at the results. Then check the exposure (beware of overexposure, especially in white dresses) and sharpness. Do you use the correct shutter speeds?
RAW or JPEG?
Before photographing a wedding, my advice is to shoot in RAW. Why? You have more room to copy photos. A mistake in the lighting can sometimes happen, it goes fast. In RAW you get away earlier than JPEG. The white balance is also easy to adjust in RAW.
Who starts often thinks that post-processing is another word for manipulating things, but photos need post-processing. It is impossible to explain everything at a wedding at all times and the priority is often at certain important highlights when using the moment. It is then not always possible to get everything highlighted in the photo or to immediately make the perfect composition.
Adobe Light room is a widely used and useful program (not the only one of course). Because you are dealing with a large number of photos, it is also useful to use a program with which you can apply certain corrections with a few clicks of the button to a whole series of photos , for example when it comes to white balance, sharpen, color , contrast etc.
